West Indies mauls England in T20 match by six wickets

Port of Spain, Mar 16: England’s bid to regain momentum after last week’s Test series defeat against West Indies failed when Ramnaresh Sarwan hit 59 from 46 balls to propel his team to a six-wicket victory over the English side in their Twenty20 match at Queen’s Park Oval.

England were bowled out for just 121 in 19.1 overs after they were sent in to bat, and West Indies replied strongly with
123 for four from 18 overs.

England was undermined by disciplined West Indies bowling and fielding which accounted for three run outs. Newcomer Steven Davies led the way for England with 27 from 21 balls and captain Andrew Strauss scored 22 from
25 balls.

Trinidad (West Indies), Mar. 13: The blitzkrieg launched by the Indian batting machine in New Zealand has driven England star bat Kevin Pietersen crazy, so much so, that he is desperate to play in the Indian Premier League next month and wants all selected England players to go with him.

KP is insisting that he will fly off to play for the Bangalore Royal Challengers unless the security risk is so strong that he is told to stay at home.

ICC fines Panesar for excessive appealingTrinidad (West Indies), Mar. 10 : England spinner Monty Panesar has been fined 25 per cent of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials during the fifth Test against West Indies at Trinidad.

Panesar was found guilty of excessive appealing by Alan Hurst of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees in a hearing after the fourth day's play concluded in Port of Spain. He was found to have breached Level 1.5 of the code after he repeatedly celebrated a dismissal before the decision was made by the umpire.

Trinidad (West Indies), Mar. 9 : England's frustration against the West Indies in the ongoing Fifth Test here, was summed up by withering verbal assaults about the pitch and umpires by all-rounder Stuart Broad and left arm spinner Monty Panesar.

Describing the playing surfaces in the West Indies as `terrible' after another barren day in which just three wickets fell in the Fifth Test, The Sun quoted Broad as saying: "It was a frustrating day. We bowled well as a unit and a few chances didn't go to hand and there were a few poor umpiring decisions."
