Mulayam accuses UP Governor of being lenient with BSP

Mulayam Singh YadavLucknow, Feb 10 : Samajwadi Party Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav has criticised Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeshwar for being lenient with the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and added that he is trying to help the Congress in the coming by-polls.

After the Samajwadi Party disrupted Rajeshwar''s opening address in the Uttar Pradesh budget session on Tuesday, Yadav asserted that the Governor has assured the Congress high command that the BSP was in for major gains in the coming elections and it would ensure that a Congress Prime Minister assumes office after the Lok Sabha polls."

UP budget session adjourned after unruly startLucknow, Feb 10: The 2009-10 budget session of the Uttar Pradesh assembly got off to an unruly start here on Tuesday with the opposition stalling the opening address of Governor T V Rajeshwar.

As soon as Rajeshwar entered the House to address the joint session of the legislature, members of the Samajwadi Party, the Rashtriya Lok Dal and the Congress shouted slogans against the Bahujan Samaj Party that rules in the state.

Samajwadi Party legislators expressed their ire over the murder of Public Works Department engineer M K Gupta in Auraiya District.

BHEL pockets various orders worth Rs 7000 Crore

Bharat Heavy Electricals LtdPublic sector equipment maker Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has notified that it has received four contracts worth Rs 7,000 crore from various producers, to supply and set up electrical equipment for thermal power projects.

The contracts have been awarded to BHEL by India's power utility NTPC, NLC Tamil Nadu Power Ltd (NTPL) and Mahagenco.

Coming Soon: Two More AIIMS Like Medical Institutes With the intention to upgrade the health care facilities in the country, the Indian government, for the second phase of Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, has approved the proposal to set up two AIIMS-like institutions in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. With this, the total number of AIIMS-like institutes will go up to eight in the country.

It is estimated that the cost of each such institution would be Rs 823 crore.

Kalyan Singh never got a clean chit in Babri Mosque demolition

Kalyan SinghLucknow, Feb 2, : The Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday said that he had never given former Bharatiya Janata Party leader a clean chit in the Babri Mosque demolition.

Mulayam Singh recalled that Kalyan Singh had already taken moral responsibility for the demolition when he stepped down as chief minister on December 6, 1992.

He clarified his relations with Kalyan Singh and said, "There is no alliance with Kalyan Singh, its only friendship which have no conditions."
