Israeli Peer denied visa for Dubai tennis

Shahar PeerDubai, UAE  - Israeli Shahar Peer lost her chance to make a political point as the Dubai government denied her a visa to play in the Barclays Championships starting on Sunday.

The 21-year-old ranked 48th, was to have travelled to the Gulf after a semi-final at the weekend in Pattaya, Thailand, and had been drawn to face 15th-seeded Russian Anna Chakvetadze.

But tensions in the Middle East after Israeli's bombing campaign last month of Palestinians in the region ended any hope of a former Israeli soldier being admitted to the moderate Arab emirate.

Daad Mohammed, from United Emirates has had 84 children with 17 different wives.

He claims to have sex twice in the morning, and seven times in the evening.

He even says that he divorces his wives when they are no longer fertile.

"I like having babies so I'm getting married as the Prophet Mohammed says," the Sun quoted Daad as saying.

"I don't remember all the names of the kids actually but whenever I see the kid I do my best to remember the name," he added.

Schaeffler, originally a maker of ball bearings, controls Continental, the bigger German group that makes tyres and electronic parts. It has asked its own staff to go without pay rises as it struggles against a crushing level of debt.

UAE to cut oil production in March

UAE to cut oil production in MarchAbu Dhabi  - The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) said Thursday it will cut its oil production starting in March.

ADNOC's move follows a decision by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC)to cut production to push global oil prices up, the official news agency WAM reported.

The Emirati company issued guidelines for its March crude oil production levels, indicating that the main onshore crude oil, known as Murban, would pump at 10 per cent below normal levels.

ADNOC's latest decision follows previously announced cutbacks for supplies in January and February.
