Demand for fruits and juices on the high in Chennai as mercury risesChennai, Apr 18 : With temperature rising in Tamil Nadu, the sale of watermelons and juices have picked up.

The temperature in Chennai, the state capital, was recorded at over 39.1 degree Celsius with humidity in the range of 69 percent on Thursday. Last year, the maximum temperature recorded was 42.1 degree celsius on May 18, but this year the temperature is inching towards that number in April itself.

  White tigress gives birth to three cubs in Tamil Nadu  Vandalur (Tamil Nadu), Apr 9 : Project Tiger has received a further boost with the announcement of a five-year-old tigress giving birth to three cubs at the Arignar Anna zoo, which is located 31 kilometres from Chennai.

The tigress named Anusuya delivered three cubs, out of which one died.

Visitors to the zoo expressed their delight at getting a glimpse of the tigress and her cubs.
