Moscow - Warning about the danger of further instability in Sudan, Russia on Wednesday reacted with scepticism to the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir.
The ICC decision could further destabilize the situation in Sudan, a Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman warned, according to the Itar- Tass agency.
Mikhail Margelov, foreign policy spokesman for the Federation Council of Russia, commented that al-Bashir "must without a doubt answer for the crimes" in the Darfur.
Paris - The humanitarian group Doctors Without Borders said Wednesday evening in Paris that it has pulled 70 staff members out of the Darfur conflict region of Sudan on the orders of the Khartoum government.
"We were ordered in writing a few days ago to withdraw for security reasons international workers from several locations by Wednesday," a spokeswoman for the group said.
Washington - The United States urged the Sudanese government and rebel groups in the country to show restraint after an international court issued an arrest warrant against Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir.
The International Criminal Court on Wednesday charged al-Bashir with five counts of crimes against humanity and two counts of war crimes for his government's backing of the brutal war in Darfur that has claimed at least 300,000 lives, mostly civilians.
Gaza City - The de-facto government of the radical Islamist Hamas movement in Gaza condemned the International Criminal Court Wednesday for ordering the arrest of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir.
The Hague court issued a warrant against al-Bashir over atrocities committed in Sudan's western Darfur province.
Hamas' government spokesman Taher al-Noono in a written statement sent to reporters called the decision "unjust."
Cairo - Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir will participate in an Arab League summit in Qatar at the end of this month, despite an international warrant for his arrest, Sudan's representative at the Arab League told reporters Wednesday.
"Al-Bashir will continue his tasks as the president of Sudan," Ali Karti, Sudan's representative to the Arab League, told reporters at the Arab Leagues headquarters in Cairo on Wednesday.
Amsterdam - The International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague on Wednesday, did not include a count of genocide against Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir for alleged atrocities in Darfur as had been widely expected.
The ICC listed only five counts of crimes against humanity and two of war crimes, but left the door open for amendments to the charge sheet to include genocide if more evidence is gathered in the case against him.
