 Pakistan rejects FBI’s offer of joint probe in Lahore attackIslamabad, Mar. 5 : Pakistan has rejected the US Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) offer to probe the ghastly Lahore terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team.

FBI director Robert Mueller during a luncheon meeting with the President, Asif Ali Zardari offered Islamabad a joint into probe the Lahore attack. But according to well-placed sources, Zardari turned down the offer.

Khan said the terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore would only add to the woes of the game in the country which was already a facing difficult situation due to a series of tour cancellations by foreign teams.

PML-L fears assassination of Nawaz, Shahbaz by Zardari

Islamabad, Mar. 5 : The Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) has expressed fears of an assassination attempt on its leaders, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and deposed Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif .

The PML-N spokesperson, Pervez Rashid, has said the party has received information about a possible assassination attempt on both leaders.

Rashid also that the PML-N would hold President Asif Ali Zaradri responsible if any harm is done to their leaders.

Some well-informed sources in Islamabad have also warned about serious security threats to the lives of the Sharif brothers.

Opposition Leader, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, also said: "Sharifs' face a security threat from the present rulers and security agencies."

Pak police arrests mentally challenged man in connection with Lahore attackKarachi, Mar. 5 : Pakistani authorities have nabbed a burqa- clad man from the Cantt Railway Station here, in connection with the Lahore terror attack, but the suspect, reportedly was mentally handicapped.

According to The Daily Times, a burqa- clad man, later identified as Maulvi Munir from Multan, was arrested by police on suspicion.

PCB holds Punjab government, security authorities responsible for Lahore attack

Lahore, Mar. 5: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has held the Punjab Government and security authorities responsible for the Tuesday’s attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team.

According to a source privy to the inner circles of the PCB, the board management had expressed its reservations about holding a Test match at Lahore following the wide scale public protest in the wake of the removal of the Shahbaz Sharif government.

It also had tabled an idea of organizing the match at match at Karachi, the venue of the first Test, or moving it to Faisalabad, but Punjab Governor, Salman Taseer objected to it saying that highest level of security would be provided to cricketers and other officials during the visit.

Karachi, Mar. 5: Pakistani authorities have nabbed a burqa- clad man from the Cantt Railway Station here, in connection with the Lahore terror attack, but the suspect, reportedly was mentally handicapped.

According to The Daily Times, a burqa- clad man, later identified as Maulvi Munir from Multan, was arrested by police on suspicion.

After the arrest, Munir also admitted of being involved in the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore, but after further investigations Railways SSP Muzaffar Sheikh said that he (Munir) appeared to be mentally challenged.

Meanwhile, in Lahore three suspicious Nigerians were arrested by security personnel.
