Islamabad, Mar. 6: The Saudi Arabia embassy here has received threatening e-mails warning of attacks on Saudi installations’ in the country.
According to The Nation, the threatening mail, reportedly from al-Qaeda, said that it would carry out attacks on Saudi installations’ such as the embassy, its attaches, and Saudi airline facilities in Pakistan in near future,
The Pakistan Government, however, has denied reports about any such threat mails.
Islamabad - A methane gas explosion deep inside a coal mine in Pakistan's mineral-rich province of Balochistan killed 14 miners and injured at least 11 others, media reports said Friday.
The blast occurred Thursday afternoon when more than 25 people were at work in Soranje coal mine, located some 25 kilometres from the provincial capital Quetta.
The explosion caused the mine to cave in, trapping the miners several hundred metres below ground level, the Daily Times newspaper said.
Islamabad, Mar. 6 : Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has said that he is ready to mend ways with former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz (PML-N) chief, Nawaz Sharif.
In a meeting with Awami National Party (ANP) leader Asfandyar Wali Khan and Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI) chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Zaradri asked the PML-N to restrain itself from attacking the government, and added that he was ready to think about confidence building measures with Sharif.
London, Mar 6: Most of the terrorists, who attacked the Sri Lankan team bus near Lahore’s Gaddafi stadium, belonged to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ), the banned militant groups having close ties with al-Qaeda.
Pakistani security officials said that the gunmen who attacked Lankan cricketers have been identified and some key suspects have been arrested, including the brother of the suspected mastermind.
The Times quoted senior police officials as saying that the men behind attack on cricketers might also have links to other militants fighting in Pakistan’s lawless tribal areas bordering Afghanistan.
Dhaka - Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Thursday postponed the tour of Pakistan cricket team for an indefinite period by government advice over security concerns, officials said.
"We have decided to postpone the tour following advice from the home affairs ministry," Jalal Yunus, the spokesman of the BCB, said without elaborating the present security situation.
