Team India arrives in Mumbai

Mumbai, Sept. 26 : The victorious Indian Twenty20 World Cup team led by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni today arrived at Sahar International Airport.

Thousands gathered at the airport to get the first glimpse of Team India, and the prestigious Twenty20 Championship trophy.

After getting a warm welcome at the airport, the world champions boarded an open-air bus, which will take them to the Wankhede Stadium in the form of a procession. BCCI officials, fans, and many VIP dignitaries are accompanying the team.

10-day Ganesha Chaturthi festival comes to an end

Mumbai, Sept 25 : Hundreds of thousands of devotees participated in the immersion ceremony of the idols of Lord Ganesha as the 10-day Ganesha Chaturthi festival came to an end today.

In Mumbai, thousands of people crowded the streets to see their beloved god being immersed amidst beating of drums. Men and women danced as they paid their respects to the god seeking his blessings.

IOC Draws Rs 43,250 Cr 5-Yr Plan For Capacity Expansion

Mumbai: In order to promote its subsisting refineries, Indian Oil Corp. Ltd (IOC) has decided to invest Rs 43,250 crore by 2011-12.

The India’s biggest public sector oil marketer will utilize funds primarily to increase annual refining capacity to around 80 million tonnes by the next five years.

IOC will also establish refineries and petrochemical plants, and explore for acquirements out of the country in the next five years.

Ganesha festival brings Hindus and Muslims together

Mumbai, Sep 20 : In many areas of Mumbai, Muslims joined Hindus in celebration of Ganesha Chaturthi, the festival that marks the birthday of Lord Ganesha.

Dozens of Muslims prayed together with Hindus at many temples in the city, offering flowers and performing religious rituals.

The men belonging to the two communities have been visiting mosques and the temples to pray.

Salim Khan, a Muslim devotee said they are all one regardless of religion or caste.
