Melbourne, Jan. 15 : The National Retailers Association has backed a radio announcer's call for a ban on Islamic hijabs.

The peak national body has called for all hijabs, helmets and hoodies to be banned in shops and banks for security purposes.

Brisbane radio presenter Michael Smith angered listeners after calling for Muslim women who wear a hijab to be fined.

The 4BC drive presenter said on Wednesday that wearing the hijab or burka posed a security risk because it obscured the face, making it difficult to identify the wearer in the instance of a crime.

Smith said it should be made an offence.

Melbourne, Jan 15 : Australian actress Holly Valance is so keen to bare all for Playboy that she has issued a "come get me" plea to Hugh Hefner.

Valance, who shot top fame with naked video `Kiss Kiss', is once again ready to flaunt her curvilinear body for Playboy.

"I''d consider topless too if it was perhaps in black and white, however I doubt Hugh would ever want me to do it," News. com. au quoted Valance, as saying.

"I''m healthy, I eat well and do lots of exercise ... I''m happy with the way I look," Valance added.

Melbourne, Jan 15 : Feminists are calling for action to be taken after a newly appointed Australian navy submarine commander suggested that female sailors wearing bikinis would help boost recruitment.

Commander Tom Phillips, appointed to the helm of Collins class submarine HMAS Farncomb last year, was asked in an interview with a men''s magazine Ralph "if female sailors all had to be hot and had to wear bikinis, would that help recruitment?"

He was quoted as saying: "It would certainly get the right demographic of young men in. I''m not sure how feasible it is, however."

Kendra has admitted that she used to sneak out of the mansion to have fun.

"I had to have sex every now and then, so I had to kind of sneak it," the Daily Telegraph quoted Kendra, as telling US weekly.

According to Fox Sports, Clarke passed a fitness test on his injured right thumb at training on Thursday, including a couple of net sessions, after missing the two Twenty20 matches.
