Kuala Lumpur - An elderly Malaysian man has remarried his ex-wife 53 years and several other spouses later, a news report said Monday.

Zakaria Seman, 71, and his blushing bride Essah Mat Yamin, 69, were married for the first time in 1952 at the ages of 15 and 13 respectively, but they divorced three years later.

However, love was rekindled 53 years later when the duo met at their only child's home recently, the Malay-language Berita Harian daily said.

Kuala Lumpur, November 14 : Non-governmental organisations in Malaysia have been warned by the police not to oppose the National Fatwa Council ruling against tomboy behaviour, insisting that their move might affect the country’s safety.

"Such protests can trigger dissatisfaction within the Muslim community and this could cause tension,” New Straits Online quoted Inspector-General of police Tan Sri Musa Hassan as saying.
