London, April 27: Babies who put on weight very fast in the first months of their lives are more likely to grow into overweight adults, a new study has revealed.

According to lead author Dr Ken Ong, from Cambridge, obese or overweight kids have an increased risk of suffering from various diseases in later stages of life, such as Type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

London, Apr 27: Visitors to the Kew Gardens in Britain are set to see the world’s smelliest flowers coming into bloom this week.

However, they have been warned to keep away as the flowers emit a smell of rotting flesh.

The Titan Arum, which is native to Indonesia, flowers just once every six or seven years, and during this time it lets out an odour so stomach-churning that it is colloquially known as “the corpse flower”, reports the Telegraph.

Andersson, who has cited London’s Hampstead Heath as the place he would love to perform at, will play on Parliament Hill bandstand at the end of a weeklong celebration of all things Swedish across London in July.

“I have heard Hampstead Heath is beautiful and I look forward to performing there,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

By 7.00 last night nearly 10,000 people had signed a petition on the Downing Street website calling for the prime minister to resign. The petition simply states: “We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to resign.”

Dr Kalvis Jansons, an academic mathematician, who describes himself as a disillusioned “traditional Labour supporter”, posted the petition.
