Kollam (Kerala), Feb 9 : Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram today said that a coastal command would be constituted soon to strengthen internal security.

Inaugurating the first coastal police station in Kollam district here, Chidambaram said, "The Central Government has ambitious plans to strengthen the national security measures along its coastal lines."

Kollam (Kerala), Sep. 30 : Kerala Police in Kollam district has recently made first arrest in a case against six siblings under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 for allegedly neglecting and abandoning their widowed mother, who is 74-year-old.

The case is first of its kind under the Act.
