Kathmandu, Sept 10 : Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday expressed hope that the government’s policies and programmes reflected the aspirations of the people from all walks of life.
He said this while talking to journalists after the announcement of the government’s policies and programmes at the Constituent Assembly (CA) in Kathmandu, Dahal claimed that the government’s annual programmes would be implemented.
Kathmandu, Sept 10 : Leaders of the various political parties and business sector have given mixed reactions to the programmes and policies unveiled by the first government of republic of Nepal here today.
Talking to mediapersons former Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission and leader of opposition party Nepali Congress Dr Narayan Khadka said many projects could be attained only in the long run.
Khadka said the projects likely to be completed in 20 years have been laid out like one-year''s programme.
Senior Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said the programmes were elaborate and sounded like a long and tedious essay.
Kathmandu - Nepal's Maoist-led government Wednesday unveiled its first policy goals since the abolition of the monarchy, aimed at social reconciliation and economic development.
The policy platform was read out by President Ram Baran Yadav in the constituent assembly, which also acts as an interim parliament.
Kathmandu, Sept 9 : Nepali Congress Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel today said that the Maoist People''s Liberation Army can''t be integrated with the Nepali Army as the former is loyal to a political party.
Speaking at a programme here Poudel said that cadres of political parties can''t be inducted in a national army, which is carrying out its duty of safeguarding the nation by remaining politically impartial.
He advised the Maoists to manage the combatants within their own party.
Kathmandu, Sep 9 : The Nepal Cabinet today endorsed the government''s policies and programmes to be presented at the Constituent Assembly on Wednesday.
According to Minister for Information and Communication, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, the final policies and programmes was endorsed after accommodating 69-point suggestion by the Maoists, 50-point suggestion by the UML and recommendations put forward by other coalition partners including the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF).
Mahara said the final text would have between 80 to 90 points. The text will be read out by President Dr. Rambaran Yadav.
