Hamburg - An Afghan-born youth declined to testify Tuesday at his trial for the murder of his own sister in Germany.

The May 15 stabbing death of Morsal O, 16, in Hamburg attracted enormous attention at a time when Germans were concerned at a rash of "honour killings" by immigrants from archaic central Asian societies.

The term usually refers to a Muslim daughter being killed by the male members of her own family who collectively decide she has disgraced the family honour through a sexual relationship.

As more details of the Morsal case have emerged, some media have suggested the case may not fit that pattern.

Hamburg  - Two-time UEFA Cup champions Tottenham Hotspur are one of several big names fighting for a place in the Round of 32 knockout round of the competition as the group stage reaches its climax on Wednesday and Thursday.

With nine places still up for grabs, it will be a tense time for Spurs along with the likes of the Spanish trio of Sevilla, Deportivo La Coruna and Racing Santander, Italy's Sampdoria or Greece's Olympiakos.

Singapore/Hamburg  - Singapore Airlines has implemented a new charge for economy class passengers who want to book a seat beside an emergency exit.

Passengers will now have to pay a minimum of 50 dollars for an advance, online seat-booking on each stretch of the route.

The decision means a flight on the airline's Frankfurt-Singapore-Sydney route can cost an additional 100 dollars.

So far, passengers could check-in online and book an emergency exit seat free of charge.
