Reddy has assured cooperation in Satyam probe: Pranab
New Delhi, Feb 19 : Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today dismissed allegations that the Andhra Pradesh Government is not allowing the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to conduct a probe into the Satyam scam.
Replying during the Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha, Mukherjee said Chief Minister Dr Y. S. Rajsekhara Reddy has assured his government''s full cooperation in the probe.
He, however, refused to comment on the Satyam scam, saying the enquiry by the SEBI into the financial irregularities is still underway.
"The SEBI had ordered investigation into the dealings in the shares of Satyam Computers and more particularly to ascertain whether the provisions of the SEBI Act 1992 and Rules and Regulations made there under have been violated," he said.
Earlier, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has said it would form a multi-disciplinary investigation team to probe the accounting fraud at Satyam.
The CBI, which has taken over the probe, said a consultative mechanism was being worked out with all departments concerned. (ANI)
