The contract was awarded to support the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic's Tactical Command and Control Division, which is responsible for the RCI operation.

It has been reported that the RCI operation, used by the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and the Special Operations Command, is a mission focused on getting military units tactical vehicles equipped with command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance in a shorter amount of time.

The contract is worth approximately $94 million if all options are exercised.

SAIC, under the follow-on award, will continue to support the RCI operation with its engineering, logistics and testing services among other requirements.

Debbie James, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager, said in a statement, "We look forward to continuing our support of Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center by providing quality services that help shorten the lead time of delivering critical C4ISR capabilities to the warfighter."
