RBI to do survey on foreign collaborations in India

RBI to do survey on foreign collaborations in IndiaApex bank, The Reserve Bank (RBI) said on Wednesday that it is going to do a survey on foreign collaborations in Indian industrial sector.

The study, said the bank, will be done so that it is able to get information related to all the financial and/or technical collaborations take place with domestic firms as a party.

Till now, seven rounds of survey have been done and this is going to the eighth round. As per the parameters of the survey details related to the nature, pattern, problems and operations of foreign collaboration agreements done or about to be done by Indian firms will be understood. This will take into account 2007-08 and 2009-10.

All the Indian companies who are already into collaboration with foreign counterparts have been asked to submit all the mandatory details by September 15 or else action could be taken against them.

RBI has asked the firms to refurbish details including name and origin of the foreign partner, type of collaboration, period of the agreement, rate of royalty rights secured by the domestic firm regarding transfer of knowledge, it said in a statement.
