New Delhi, Nov 19 - The Rajya Sabha was adjourned Thursday -- the opening day of the winter session of parliament -- after paying tribute to former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and ex-MPs.

The upper house of parliament was adjourned for the day after obituary references to YSR -- as the former Andhra chief minister was popularly known -- and former MPs P. Upendra, Mahendra Sahani and Pyarelal Khandelwal.

The month-long winter session of parliament will conclude Dec 21. (IANS)
