Pro, anti-Musharraf demonstrations as he arrives at British PM’s residence

anti-Musharraf demonstrationsLondon, Jan 28 : People took out pro and anti Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf rallies when he arrived here at 10 Downing Street to meet British Premier Gordon Brown during the last leg of his tour to the European countries.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Q demonstrated a pro-Musharraf rally. The party supporters were holding party flags, photos of Musharraf, and banners to show support their support to him.

A protest rally was taken out jointly by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Imran Khan’s Tehreek-i-Insaf and Jamat-i-Islami. Khan led the anti-Musharraf rally along with his ex-wife Jemima Khan. Holding flags of their respective parties and banners, they chanted slogans against Musharraf.

Facing the difficulties due to the rallies, the authorities at the 10 Downing Street took Musharraf from the Foreign Office gate and not from the main gate.

Musharraf-Brown meeting is underway. The two leaders are likely to discuss issues relating to war on terror, Afghanistan, swapping of criminals, investigation conducted into the assassination of ex-premier Benazir Bhutto by Scotland Yard and the February 18 parliamentary elections. (ANI)
