Prime Minister Manmohan Singh reviews India’s security scenario
New Delhi, De 21: Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has reviewed the security scenario in the country during a meeting with senior ministers and the three service chiefs on Saturday night.
The meeting was attended by Defence Minister A K Antony, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister P Chidambaram and National Security Adviser M K Narayanan.
The three service chiefs and intelligence chiefs were also present in the meeting, which lasted around four hours.
The meeting was held amid growing Indo-Pak tensions in the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks that killed 179 people.
Sources indicated that the Prime Minister reviewed recent developments and decided to keep a close watch on the steps being taken by Pakistan to deal with terrorism.
Earlier, Mukherjee had said that India was obliged to consider the entire range of options that exist in the face of Pakistan failing to keep its assurances of cooperating. (ANI)
