Prachanda''s recent statement reflects his frustration: MK Nepal
Kathmandu, Dec 11: Former UML General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal today said that Prime Minister Prachanda''s recent statement that his party will pull out on Army integration issue reflected his frustration.
Speaking at a press conference here, he said, "Prime Minister should console others, but he himself is disappointed. This is not a good sign for the country."
"Instead of looking for others'' mistakes, Prachanda should anlayse his mistakes," he added.
He also urged Prachanda to make the Nepali Congress participate in the Army Integration Special Committee.
He further said that the forthcoming days of the government would be even more challenging as the public has been dissatisfied with the government so far.
Earlier, Prachanda has warned that his party will break the ongoing political continuity if the government continues to face hurdles in army integration and constitution-drafting processes.
"All should be careful not to let a situation in which the government leadership could break the continuity arise," he added.
He said Maoists were committed to take the peace process to its logical conclusion with the integration of Maoist combatants into state security forces and drafting of a new constitution.
Prachanda conceded that the government had not been able to fulfill people''s aspirations during its first 100 days.
He said security agencies have not been able to transform themselves as per the expectations of the people.
He further accused the Nepali Congress of not wanting change by refusing to join the army integration special committee under various pretexts, Kantipur reported. (ANI)
