Prachanda says Govt will give justice to conflict victims
Kathmandu, Feb 25: Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda has said the government is committed to extend justice to victims of the decade long conflict.
Inaugurating the First South Asian Conference on International Humanitarian Law organised by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) here on Tuesday, Prachanda said the government is making deliberate efforts to form the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and investigate human rights violations and disappearances during the conflict.
"The management of conflict victims and the displaced is a big challenge. The government will extend all possible justice to them," Kantipur quoted him as saying.
"The government has recently introduced ordinances to implement the commitments to investigate human rights violations as mentioned in the Comprehensive Peace Accord and the Interim Constitution," he added
Prachanda also reaffirmed commitment to fulfill all obligations under International Humanitarian Law.
The conference will end on February 27. (ANI)
