PPP never held Musharraf directly responsible for Benazir’s murder
Lahore, Jan 4 (ANI): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Vice-Chairman, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, has said that his party never held President Musharraf directly responsible for the assassination of former premier Benazir Bhutto.
Fahim said: ‘We don’t want to blame anybody, but we want an impartial inquiry into the tragic incident by the UN to trace the real culprits.
Clarifying his party’s stance in this regard, he said that it has been the PPP’s stance that if persons nominated by Benazir in her letter addressed to Musharraf are not apprehended, then the party would hold Musharraf partly responsible for the incident.
He further questioned as to why the government did not call Scotland Yard to probe the Karachi blast of October 18,2007 when Benazir had demanded the probe,
"Now, they have called the Scotland Yard team under pressure," he added.
While talking about the upcoming elections, he said, "We hope that February 18 elections would be held on time. We cannot afford any further delay in polls," The Nation quoted Fahim as saying. (ANI)
