Police seize nine tons of explosives in Raipur
Raipur, May 23 : Police here have seized nine tons of gelatin sticks from an unclaimed vehicle.
The truck was on its way from Jharkhand to a factory in Maharashtra when it was stopped in Chhattisgarh.
The factory owner alerted the police in Chhattisgarh's Janjgir District when he failed to find the truck.
The abandoned truck was tracked down to an isolated spot in Raipur and a suspect was detained.
"We have found this truck near Nandanvan. A boy was here with the truck, and we have detained him. The entire consignment has been handed over to the investigating team," said Amit Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Raipur.
Police clarified that they have no clue on whether Maoist rebels were involved. (ANI)
