Police investigators recover pesticide packets from absconding principal’s house
Police investigators have confirmed have recovered packets of a pesticide from the house of Meena Devi - the absconding principal of the government primary school in Saran district in Chhapra, where at least 23 children died after eating mid-day meal.
Sujeet Kumar, Superintendent of Police for Saran, said they found and recovered five packets of pesticide carbofuran from Meena Devi's house.
Mr. Sujeet also confirmed that both Meena Devi and her husband were still at large.
Speaking to reporters, the Superintendent of Police said, "Raids are being made at different places based on clues about absconding school principal Meena Devi and her husband Arjun Rai but we have not been able to nab them so far."
The Police official added that police personnel were positioned at the absconding principal's house, as well as additional police force had been deployed in the village to control any unpleasant situation.
eanwhile, the police authorities are seeking the court's permission to attach property of the absconding school principal.
In an FIR lodged after the dreadful incident, Meena Devi has been accused of murder and criminal conspiracy under sections 302 and 120-B, respectively.
Probe report of Deputy Inspector General of Police for Saran Range has also help Meena Devi responsible for the tragedy.
