Police defuse bomb near former president Gemayel's house
Beirut - Lebanese police defused a bomb late Tuesday near the house of former president Amin Gemayel in Bikfaya, northeast of capital Beirut.
A bomb placed in a Honda was found near Gemayel's house, a source close to the former leader said. Gemayel's security personnel caught the Syrian owner of the car and handed him over to Lebanese authorities for interrogation.
Gemayel was Lebanon's president during the 1980s and is currently a member of the anti-Syrian majority in parliament. (dpa)
