British Prime Minister Gordon BrownIslamabad, Jan 23: The former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Barrister Sultan Mehmood, has criticized British Prime Minister Gordon Brown for backing India's bid for a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

"India has no right to apply for a permanent seat in the Security Council, as it does not accept UN resolutions regarding Kashmir and its 800,000 troops are killing innocent people in occupied Kashmir," The Daily Times quoted Mehmood as saying.

Addressing a press conference, he also said Brown had hurt the feelings of thousands of Kashmiris residing in Britain, besides dishonouring moral obligations. (ANI)
