Players will soon rejoin camp: DDCA
The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), facing revolt by senior players, is hopeful for getting things back to normal soon. DDCA Sports Secretary Sunil Dev admitted that all players would rejoin the Ranji conditioning training camp very soon.
Sunil Dev further informed that the decision on selection of selectors would be taken only after DDCA president Arun Jaitley meets Sehwag and other senior players to discuss this issue. Arun Jaitley is expected to meet Sehwag on 26th or 27th August.
Meanwhile, the total number of players who skipped the camp increased to nine as two more players missed the camp on Thursday. Aditya Jain and Sunny Sherawat joined Virender Sehwag in his insurgency against DDCA. Left-arm fast bowler Ashish Nehra was also absent on the second day of the camp.
Sehwag had also threatened to play for Haryana team in the upcoming season. On this issue Haryana Cricket Association president Arvind Chaudhary said that they would welcome Sehwag in their state team and they have given a state award and land for opening a cricket academy to him.
