Piramal Healthcare Q1 net surges 45%Mumbai-based pharmaceutical company Piramal Healthcare has registered a growth of 45 per cent in its net profit, for the first quarter ended June 30, 2009.

The company's net profit has surged to Rs 74 crore, compared to Rs 51 crore in the corresponding period last year.

In addition, the total income of the company also increased by 16.4 percent to Rs 570 crore, compared with Rs 489 crore earned in the year-ago period.

On consolidated basis, the company has reported an increase of 25 percent in its net profit, which surged to Rs 85.10 crore as compared with last year figure of Rs 68.09 crore.

However, consolidated net income of the pharmaceutical company from all operations has been grown up by 16 per cent to Rs 821.54 crore as against Rs 708.32 crore.

On behalf of good results, the shares of the company today ended the day on BSE at Rs 333, up 3% compared to previous close of Rs 322.
