Pilibhit administration declares Varun Gandhi guilty
Pilibhit, Mar 19 : The sub-divisional magistrate of Pilibhit, has declared BJP MP Varun Gandhi guilty of distributing money among people in Bisalpur village.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate M. A. Akhtar said that Gandhi had extended financial assistance to at least two persons on March 4.
Akhtar said he took statements from the two people to prove his charge.
He said Gandhi had given Rs. 10,000 to the relative of a vendor who was killed a few days ago. Another amount of Rs. 5,000 was distributed to others.
Naib Tehsildar Janki Prasad conducted the inquiry.
Gandhi is already under fire for making an speech against Muslims in Pilibhit.
The Election Commission has filed a criminal case under a non-bailable law against him.
Gandhi has denied the charges, saying the CD containing his speech has been tampered with. (ANI)
