Pervez Musharraf’s spokesman denies resignation statement
Islamabad, Nov 14 : President Pervez Musharraf’s spokesman has denied the British News channel statement attributed to Musharraf regarding his resignation.
According to a Sky TV Asia correspondent, Musharraf mulled over giving resignation.
In the interview, Musharraf said that the elections would be held under emergency and he wants democracy in the country.
Pervez Musharraf had said in the interview that he is not a dictator, and wanted to restore democracy in the country.
Musharraf said he felt let down by the West and betrayed by the media and remarked, "I am not a dictator. "
Musharraf had told a British News channel that he had considered resigning.
He vowed in the interview to quit the government, but only after the tumultuous situation is brought under control.
Musharraf said that it is due to the wrong reporting of the media that Pakistan and the world are thinking that ‘I am getting weaker. ’
He said that the situation in the country is not all right, and added that he imposed the emergency owing to the extremists, The News reported. (ANI)
