Warren Beatty sued over Dick Tracy rightsLondon, Mar 22 : Actor and director Warren Beatty is facing a lawsuit over motion picture and television rights to comic-strip character Dick Tracy.

According to Tribune Media Services, Beatty "wrongly claims" to have exclusive film and TV rights to the police detective.

As per court papers, Beatty bought the rights for Dick Tracy in 1985 and went on to act and direct the 1990 film by the same name, reports The BBC.

The movie won three academy awards and its cast included Dustin Hoffman, Madonna and Al Pacino.

Warren Beatty once ''tried to get Julie Christie’s sex scene axed’

Washington, Dec 15 : American actor Warren Beatty was once so furious at a steamy scene between his then-girlfriend Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland that he actually flew down to Britain to get it deleted.

The Oscar-winner was infuriated by the lovemaking scene in 1973 flick `Don''t Look Now', which sparked rumours of an affair between long-term partner Christie and Sutherland due to the pair''s fiery on-screen chemistry.

Beatty was so upset by the scene that he travelled to producer Michael Deeley's home in Britain to get it axed from the final edit.
