Sharif should not make impractical demands: GilaniLahore, June 1 : Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has urged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif to think of the nation's interest, and avoid making impractical demands on the government, suggesting that coalition relationship is cooling off.

Reiterating that the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) respects Sharif and would not undertake unsuitable actions, Gilani said that his party was not against the impeachment of President Pervez Musharraf.

Pak PM urges US Prez to remove post-Nov 3 emergency sanctionsIslamabad, May 29 : Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has reportedly asked the US to remove all sanctions imposed on economic and defence assistance to Pakistan after the state of emergency was imposed on November 3, 2007.

Gilani made this request to Bush when he met the latter on the sidelines of World Economic Forum in Egypt last week.

38 percent of Pakistanis root for Gilani as Prime Minister

Islamabad, May 26 : Most Pakistanis have given a favourable rating to Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani as the Prime Minister of Pakistan, according to Gallup Pakistan survey.

According to the NGO, a survey undertaken on May 19 and 20 found around 38 percent giving favourable ratings to the Prime Minister's performance, 41 percent termed his performance tolerable, 20 percent gave unfavourable ratings, while two percent did not give a response.

In all, 1,595 people participated in the survey. Most people hoped that the deposed judges would be reinstated by the ruling coalition, irrespective of the differences between the component parties over the issue.
