New Delhi, May 17 : Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor oozed oomph in a voluminous white floral gown by Italian luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana on day two of the 66th Cannes International Film Festival.

The actress flaunted a D&G gown at the premiere of "Jeune & Jolie" after making India-inspired statements in apparel by Anamika Khanna and Shehla Khan on the first day of the extravaganza. She is at the Cannes fest as the L'Oreal Paris ambassador.

"Sonam Kapoor in custom Dolce and Gabbana for Cannes 2013," Sonam's sister Rhea posted on Twitter, along with a picture of the actress.

Bollywood fashionista Sonam Kapoor has called upon her friends, family and fans to conserve water. She has lent support to a campaign Pani Bachao Life Banao.

A three-month-long corporate social responsibility initiative by 92.7 BIG FM, the campaign aims to create awareness about saving water in the country.

“People should follow simple tips at home to save water, like using buckets for bath instead of showers, not keeping tap open with water running and many such small vigilant steps that contribute to creating larger difference in the society,” Sonam said in a statement.

Mumbai, May 14 : Praising her co-star Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor says only he has the 'inocence' to play the lead in "Raanjhanaa".

"I think only Dhanush can become 'Raanjhanaa'. He has got the innocence. I think there is nobody who has that spirit that is as clean (as his) over here (Bollywood)," said the 27-year-old in an interview.

"There is a lot of innocence and at the same time there is a lot of love in the way he approaches everything," added the actress who has worked with stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Imran Khan and Shahid Kapoor in the last six years.

Mumbai, May 9 : As the title suggests, "Raanjhanaa" is a romantic tale and its director Aanand L. Rai is confident that people would love to believe in the ideology of his film.

The "Tanu Weds Manu" fame director, who has teamed up with southern star Dhanush and Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor to tell this love story, feels even though the world has become immensely fast paced, everyone wants to be loved.

"People will relate to it and love to believe in it. Everyone wants to be loved. People haven't stopped believing in love, they have stopped believing in (other) people," he told IANS in a group interview.

New Delhi, May 9 : As the Indian Cinema celebrates 100 years of its existence Bollywood actresses and fashionista Sonam Kapoor shared her love for classic look and said she copied legendary Madhubala's sari from a song for an event.

"There was a sari of Madhubala from 'Achcha ji main haari...', I actually copied that sari for Filmfare's press conference," Sonam told IANS.

"It was a very simple and elegant blue sari with black border. The blouse had three-fourth sleeves and the back had black buttons on the right," she added.

Madhubala wore the sari with a brooch and accessorised it with a small batua.

Mumbai, May 8 : Sonam Kapoor is excited to step into Rekha's shoes for "Khoobsurat" remake, but at the same time she is a bit scared how she would recreate the same charm and spirit of the character.

"I am scared because the whole point of the film is to capture the spirit of that character because the story has been completely changed. She did it so beautifully and I hope I can do even 10 percent of what she did," Sonam said here in an interview.

Sonam also plans to make it contemporary.

Mumbai, May 6 : This is her third year at the Cannes International Film Festival and actress Sonam Kapoor plans to make a style statement in an Indian outfit at the red carpet there.

Starting May 15, the event will see screenings of three Indian movies "Monsoon Shootout", "Bombay Talkies" and "Dabba". At the 11-day event India will be the guest country, while Bollywood actress Vidya Balan will join the jury panel at the 66th edition of the festival.

And Sonam plans to enhance the Indian flavour by hitting the red carpte in desi look.

Mumbai, May 6 : Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who will step into the shoes of Rekha to play a chirpy carefree young girl in the "Khubsoorat" remake, says she is completely in awe of the "Umrao Jaan" actress.

"I am completely obsessed with Rekha. I love her dramatic eyes and red lips," she told reporters here Monday.

She unveiled the L'Or Sunset Collection and Bollywood inspired looks for Cannes film festival at event. The actress has six looks to choose from for the festival, which includes dramatic eyes and red lips.

New Delhi, May 3 : Indian actresses Aishwarya Rai, Sonam Kapoor and Freida Pinto will walk the red carpet at the forthcoming Cannes International Film Festival on different occasions. They will sport looks inspired by Bollywood's different eras.

The trio will walk as brand ambassadors of beauty brand L'Oreal Paris, which completes 16 years as the official make-up artist for the Cannes film fest. With the gala celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema this year, L'Oreal Paris will commemorate the occasion with L’Or Sunset, a new make-up line.

Mumbai, April 27 : Actress Sonam Kapoor, who is known for her distinct sense of style and fashion, says the 1960s was a golden period for Indian cinema, and she would love it if it comes back.

"I can only say that the 1960s was the golden period of Indian cinema and I hope that time comes back again," the 27-year-old said here Friday at the screening of "Bombay Talkies", a film made to pay tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema.

Sonam says she is humbled to be a small part of Indian cinema.

Mumbai, April 24 : Actress Sonam Kapoor is gearing up to join the 66th edition of Cannes International Film Festival, where India is the guest country.

A source close to Sonam revealed: "Sonam will be attending Cannes next month. The film festival is celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema and Sonam has shot for a special feature with a French team who has come down to capture a day in the life of a Bollywood celebrity."

In fact, the French team is currently here. They have been spending time capturing Sonam's routine amidst her shooting and promotion schedule. Also, when she spends time with near and dear ones.

Mumbai, April 23 : Bollywood's father-daughter duo Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor will be seen together for the first time in a special song in "Bombay Talkies".

A compilation of four short films celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema, "Bombay Talkies" has contributions by Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Karan Johar.

The makers have shot one special song for the film that will feature some of the known Bollywood stars including Sonam and Anil, said a statement.

Mumbai, April 22 : The first theatrical trailer of "Raanjhanaa" is set to release and Sonam Kapoor, the lead actress of the movie, is excited.

"The theatrical of 'Raanjhanaa' releasing at 12 am IST (Indian Standard Time) April 24... Countdown begins," tweeted Sonam, who has teamed up with southern star Dhanush in it.

Set in a small town, the contemporary love story also stars Abhay Deol, Swara Bhaskar, Deepak Dobriyal and Mohammed Zeeshan.

New Delhi, April 18 : Actress Sonam Kapoor has managed to mesmerise her fans with her stylish avatars at most of her appearances, but there's a special beauty secret that she has been guarding from everyone.

She is said to be hiding the secret in a Mystery White Box lately, and she will reveal it sometime soon.

It is perhaps a new endorsement deal that Sonam has bagged for a new beauty product, but details of it are currently under wraps.

Sonam's mystery box is likely to be revealed towards the end of this month.

Actress Sonam Kapoor, who has endorsed brands like Electrolux, Spice Mobile, and Mont Blanc, associates only with those names that she believes in.

"Everything that I endorse is what I truly believe in," the 27-year-old, who is currently the face of L'Oreal Paris, told IANS.

Daughter of well-known actor Anil Kapoor, Sonam entered Bollywood six years ago with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Saawariya". She did films like "Delhi 6" and "Ayesha" and now, the actress is looking forward to "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" and "Raanjhnaa".

Mumbai, March 29 : Actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who has finished shooting one schedule of Yash Raj Films' untitled film with Sonam Kapoor, took a lot of fashion tips from his co-star.

Praising Sonam's fashion sense, he said: "Pretty good. In fact, she is very talented and a style icon."

"I keep on taking tips from her how to dress up and all," he said in an interview.

The actress is also impressed with Ayushmann's chivalry and complimented him by calling him a thorough gentleman.

Mumbai, March 27 : Instead of Dhanush-Sonam Kapoor starrer "Raanjhanaa", Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi's "Ghanchakkar" will reportedly hit the screens June 28.

A source from the industry said: "When the calendar came out this year, 'Raanjhnaa' was supposed to release on June 28th. Though there was no official announcement made about it, but there were reports of the film releasing on June 28th."

New Delhi, March 14 : Though she was brought up in Mumbai, Sonam Kapoor loves to play a Delhi girl on celluloid and adds that she feels like one nowadays.

"I love Delhi - the people, space in this city. I think there is so much character in the city. Of course, every city has its negatives and positives. I love playing a Delhi girl because I feel inherently I am one," Sonam told IANS.

"Delhi 6" saw her portraying a middle-class girl from old Delhi area, while in "Aisha", she was seen as an uptown fashionista from high society of the capital.

New Delhi, Feb 12 : Actress Sonam Kapoor feels it is better to invest in one traditional ornament rather than buying several pieces of junk jewellery.

The 27-year-old was here Tuesday to announce the launch of the first Delhi edition of the India International Jewellery Week by the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).

The event, which earlier took place in Mumbai -- the country's business capital, will be held here April 4-5.

Mumbai, March 17: Actress Sonam Kapoor has landed the role of a Varanasi girl, who studies in the capital's Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), in "Raanjhanaa". She is cast opposite southern star Dhanush.

The decision was taken after intense discussions between director Aanand L. Rai of "Tanu Weds Manu" and Sonam.As per the script, Dhanush plays a local Varanasi boy, and Sonam essays a Varanasi girl educated in Delhi.
