London, April 29 : ''Slumdog Millionaire' star Rubina Ali''s house is flooded with sewage water.

Her family had to flee when burst pipes flooded the Garib Nagar slum in Mumbai.

And the nine-year-old expressed her plight while clearing the mess.

"Things just don't seem to be going right for any of us," the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

Washington, Apr 25 : Indian police has dropped the investigation against Slumdog Millionaire star Rubina Ali's father over allegations he attempted to sell his daughter.

The authorities insist that they have failed to find any evidence to back claims that he offered to auction off the nine-year-old for 200,000 pounds.

Rafiq Qureshi was arrested and quizzed by police in Mumbai earlier this week (20Apr09) after British newspaper News of the World broke the news.

Washington, Apr 22 : Slumdog Millionaire trust has come out to the rescue of the film’s child star Rubina Ali by hiring a social worker to look after her.

The Jai Ho Trust was established with financial support from the filmmakers to ensure the welfare of the movie''s child stars, including Rubina and Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail.

The trust has offered to help by hiring a trained social worker to look after the welfare of Rubina - amid allegations that the nine-year-old girl’s father Rafiq tried to sell her for
2,00,000 pounds.

London, Apr 21 : Slumdog Millionaire star Rubina Ali's biological mother and stepmother were caught in a fracas over an alleged attempt to sell the girl.

Rubina's real mum Kurshida Devade and stepmum Munni Qureshi were seen screaming and slapping each other on the Mumbai streets.

Meanwhile, Rubina's father Rafiq Qureshi has been arrested over claims that he tried to sell his daughter for 200,000 pounds to an Arab Sheikh.

London, Apr 19 : ''Slumdog Millionaire'' child actress Rubina Ali''s instant success has made her dad so greedy that he has decided to put her on sale.

In a bid to cash in on Rubina''s international stardom, father Rafiq Qureshi has put her up for adoption, demanding nearly 200,000 pounds.

He offered the deal to News of the World''s undercover fake sheik.

"Yes, we are considering Rubina''s future," Rafiq told the undercover.
