Former UK captain Vaughan may return for Ashes series

Michael VaughanLondon, Dec. 30 : Former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan''s international career remains ajar after his omission from England''s Test squad for the Caribbean.

It does so for three reasons (1) The first is his central contract, controversially awarded in September and now performing the role of a reassuring umbilical cord (2) The second is the doubt over Ian Bell''s suitability for the No. 3 slot and (3) Is the faith of others, principally the selectors and Kevin Pietersen, and Vaughan''s own bloody mindedness and tactical acumen.

English selectors to consider Vaughan’s returnLondon, Dec 25 : Former England skipper Michael Vaughan is again expected to be top of the agenda when selectors meet immediately after Christmas to choose the squad for the tour to the West Indies.

Vaughan resigned from his post in tears earlier this summer following South Africa's victory in the third Test at Edgbaston, claiming the pressure of leading the side and attempting to recapture his form had become too much to handle, The Independent reported.

Vaughan says England can level India series

Michael VaughanLondon, Dec. 17 : Former England captain Michael Vaughan thinks England can recover from bitter defeat to India and level the series in Mohali.

He told Telegraph TV that he was proud of his teammates'' performance.

He said: "It was a great game of cricket. Both teams played to an incredible standard in terms of what they''d gone through in the previous two weeks.

"The England team can be very proud of the way they played. For three-and-three-quarter days they dominated the Test and that is something which is very difficult to do in India."
