London, April 2: The much-awaited meeting between U. S President Barack Obama and Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh took place here on Thursday on the sidelines of the second Group of 20 (G-20) leaders summit, and at the end of it, both leaders pitched for improved and enhanced bilateral ties.
Both leaders met for about 45-minutes with key aides and used the occasion to highlight each other's leadership skills and contribution to national and international developments.
London - US President Barack Obama and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh affirmed the strong relationship between their two countries during their first meeting Thursday on the sidelines of the G20 summit in London.
Obama said that they discussed terrorism, both in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and how the US and India can effectively coordinate their counterterrorism efforts.

(IMF) to the tune of 500 billion dollars in the next two years as an interim step and also to double the IMF quota in near future for the developing countries.
New Delhi, Apr 2 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has greeted the nation on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, which will be celebrated tomorrow.
In his message, Dr. Singh said that Lord Ram is the embodiment of righteousness and high moral values. His philosophy and teachings inspire all of us to rededicate ourselves to cause of the underprivileged with service and sacrifice.

London, Apr 1 : The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has said that India would emerge a more successful country from an economic perspective in the long run in comparison to China.
In an interview to the Financial Times in London, Dr. Singh said: "The Chinese have certain advantages: the fact that it''s a single party government. But I do believe in the long run in the fact that India is a functioning democracy, committed to the rule of law. Our system is slow to move, but I''m confident that once decisions are taken they are going to be far more durable."
