Washington, February 27 : Two-time Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman accepted an honorary commander title from the French Government with moist eyes on Thursday.
The 71-year-old was made a foreign commander of the country''s National Order of Arts and Letters in recognition of his contributions to the film industry.
He received a green medallion from France''s Culture Minister Christine Albanel in a glamorous Parisian ceremony.

The 71-year-old revealed that he had an understanding with all his kids that he would be there to eat the cake on their half-century birthdays.
"I have a pact with my kids. My youngest is 21 and I said, ''I want to be there for your 50th birthday,'' which means I have to be 100," Contactmusic quoted the Oscar-winner as saying.
