New York, Aug. 22 : Senator Barack Obama has a slim 42 percent to 39 percent edge over Republican rival John McCain in the race for the White House, according to a Fox News poll released on Thursday.

A month ago Obama led by 41 percent to 40 percent. Both leads are well within the margin of sampling error, reports Fox News.

Opinion Dynamics Corporation conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for Fox News from August 19 to August 20. The poll has a 3-point error margin.

Washington, Aug 22 : Republican presidential nominee John McCain failed to recall how many homes he and his multimillionaire wife own during an interview, jeopardising his campaign’s carefully constructed strategy to frame Democratic rival Barack Obama as an out-of-touch elitist.

In an interview with Politico. com, the presumptive Republican nominee was asked how many houses he and his wife, Cindy, heir to a beer distributorship owned.

Washington  - As speculation continues to swirl over who Barack Obama will pick as his running mate, one of the top prospects, Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, joined the Democratic presidential candidate on the campaign trail Thursday.

Obama is in the middle of a two-day swing through southern Virginia, which has become one of the most hotly contested states in the country this election season.

Kaine, 50, joined a rally that played up Obama's economic policies in the southern town of Chester.

Nairobi- Barack Obama's half-brother George Hussein Obama has been discovered living in tin shack in a Nairobi slum, the Italian version of Vanity Fair reported.

Obama shares the same father with the 26-year-old George, who lives in Huruma, a slum on the outskirts of the Kenyan capital.

Senator Obama's father, the late Barack Obama Senior, was from the village of Nyang'oma-Kogelo in western Kenya.

Obama Senior fathered Barack while in the United States, but left when the young Obama was two to return to Kenya.
