Washington, Aug 27 : With many celebrities showing their favour for Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama, American singer Tony Bennett’s support looks to be the strongest of the lot.

Bennett, 82, performed on August 25 night along with James Taylor and John Legend for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at a private show following the end of Day 1 of the Democratic National Convention.

Denver, Aug 27: Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama sent “here’s my V. P.” text messages from his own cell phone to 2.9 million people, costing him around 290,000 dollars. The cell company charged him 10 cents for each one.

The company’s Nielsen Mobile division did the math, monitoring approximately 40,000 SMS short-code lines in the US and coming up with the final tally of 2.9 million, the CBS News reported.

“We are on the same team, and none of us can sit on the sidelines,” said Hillary. With her husband and daughter lending moral support throughout the day, she deferred her own dreams to deliver an emphatic plea to unite behind her rival, Obama, no matter what ill will lingers.
