Hillary ClintonWashington, Nov 4: On the eve of the US presidential poll, Democratic US Senator Hillary Clinton reportedly urged her supporters to “make history” by voting for Barack Obama, her onetime bitter rival for her party’s presidential nomination.

“Tomorrow we have the opportunity to make history. Tomorrow we can elect Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Democrats up and down the ticket. Together, we can begin putting this country on the right track,” The News quoted Hillary as saying in a mass e-mail sent to her supporters.

With 15 votes for Obama and six for McCain reported by broadcasters, the opening of the Dixville Notch polling station Tuesday just after midnight marked the opening of US elections that could put produce the first-ever African-American president.

A new web ad that concentrated on the candidate’s science and technology policies was released on Sunday evening by Barack Obama’s campaign. This of course comes as an unusual move from Obama’s campaign.

The ad basically focuses on the candidate’s call fro the betterment of a laundry list of Silicon Valley's top lobbying priorities. Majority of the items are the perennial lobbying items for Silicon Valley companies on Capitol Hill, except from rapid anti-trust enforcement.

Obama is British bookies’ favourite too

Barack ObamaWashington, Nov 4: Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, who is said to be comfortably leading against his Republican rival John McCain in today’s presidential poll, is the favourite among the British bookies too.

This assumes significance as past records show that gamblers had been “more accurate” than pollsters.

According to the Daily Times, placing bets on the outcome of US presidential elections is though barred under the US laws, but British bookmaker Betfair has made Barack Obama an overwhelming 1-7 favourite.
