New York, Apr 15 : US President Barack Obama’s life, and his run to the White House, would soon be turned into a new movie.

HBO is said to have optioned a book on which the movie on Obama will be based.

The channel has chosen Mark Halperin and John Heilemann''s upcoming book ‘Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime’, a behind-the-scenes look at the 2008 election.

Although casting for the movie has not started yet, bosses at HBO will soon be searching for stars to portray important characters of Obama and First Lady Michelle.

Washington - President Barack Obama on Tuesday said the government's efforts to pull the US economy out of a devastating recession were beginning to show signs of progress. "By no means are we out of the woods just yet. But from where we stand, for the very first time, we are beginning to see glimmers of hope," Obama said in prepared remarks released by the White House ahead of a speech on the economy, picking up on the more upbeat tone he first sounded last week.

Chicago, Apr 14 : It's Bo day at Obama residence. The eagerly awaited White House pooch, a Portuguese water dog, joins the First family today.

Bo has a big clout behind him - he''s a gift from Sen. Ted Kennedy. But, besides that he had to prove himself worthy through a vetting process.

The pooch's final vetting came during a visit to the White House for a little over an hour in mid-March.

However, Bo''s selection comes with some controversy.

Washington, Apr. 14 : Thousands of children gathered at the White House yesterday for the first Easter Egg Roll of the Obama administration, an event with a 131-year tradition that opened its gates to the largest crowd ever.

Presided over by President Obama and US First Lady Michelle Obama, the 2009 Easter Egg Roll revolved around the traditional race that has children pushing -- and in some cases flinging -- decorated eggs across an expanse of White House lawn using large cooking spoons.

It was the day when thousands of people get the chance to stand on the White House grounds.

Washington, Apr 14 : President Barack Obama's most liberal supporters are dismayed and disgusted because his administration is invoking the "state secrets" privilege just as former President George W. Bush did to shield eavesdropping programs from public exposure.

"I wasn't happy when George Bush asserted that he could do these things and I'm not happy that President Obama is now agreeing with George Bush," FOX News quoted Jane Hamsher of Accountability Now, as saying.

Washington - US President Barack Obama on Monday lifted all restrictions on Cuban Americans travelling and sending money back to their home country as part of a much-anticipated reversal of US policies toward Cuba. In an executive order, Obama will also expand communications links and allow more humanitarian donations to be sent to Cuba in what the White House billed as an effort to encourage a Democratic transition on the Communist island.
