London, Jan 1 : US President-elect Barack Obama, who is to move to Washington this weekend, will be staying in a hotel after George W. said an official residence was "not available".

The Obamas are leaving Chicago and moving to the American capital shortly after their Hawaii vacation ends on Thursday because daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, seven, are due to start school, reports the Telegraph.

Chicago, Dec. 31 : US President-elect Barack Obama may sport a ubiquitous Chicago White Sox cap, but it turns out he is also a fan of West Ham United, a soccer team in the England''s Barclays Premier League.

According to the New York Daily News, Obama attended a game five years ago when visiting family in the U. K.

The would-be resident of White House will arrive in the capital before inauguration events begin from January 20.

"The president-elect will be here in Washington to continue work on an economic recovery plan," Us magazine quoted the team as saying.

Obama, with wife Michelle, and their two daughters will stay at a Washington hotel through January 15.
