Lahore, Mar. 21: The 2011 cricket World Cup is scheduled to be held in the four sub-continent countries India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh but with several teams expressing their worry over the security scenario in Pakistan it is now been speculated that Pakistan might not get to host any matches of the event, in such eventuality the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would lose around 12 million dollars.

Talking to media persons here, a PCB official said: “Pakistan has been given 16 matches including one semi-final. This means the board will get a total of 12 million dollars for hosting the World Cup matches from the ICC.”

Several teams have refused to tour Pakistan due to precarious security condition in the country, and the recent terror attack on the Sri Lankan cricket players has made the matter worse for the PCB.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has granted 16 World Cup games to Pakistan, while India has been awarded
22 matches.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are schedule to host nine and seven matches respectively. (ANI)
