India's leading software firm Patni Computer Systems has announced its quarterly financial report and it has registered a mammoth profit rise for the first quarter this year. The company is known to be on of the mid-size software exporter of the country.

As per the report the company's net profit has been increased to Rs 157 crore for the first quarter ended 31st March, 2010. That means the firm has seen a huge 100% rise in its net profit as compared to the same quarter in the preceding year.

The company officials have also expressed their contentment on the double rise in net profit.

As per preliminary reports high rise in demand for outsourcing services as well as foreign currency gains has helped the firm to show such a blistering performance.

Recently the company has won a $250 million outsourcing contract from US health insurer Universal American. Apart from that the firm's net revenue has gone up to Rs 781.6 crore this quarter which was Rs 776 crore for the same period a year ago.
