Particle Physics Important for Manufacturers
European Organization for Nuclear Research’s (CERN) Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the world's largest and most powerful particle collider. Anything that happens at the LHC plays an important role in the life of manufacturers or citizens in general.
It is well known the particle physics is going affect the lives of every citizen in the 21st century. The LHC is known for the discovery of the God Particle. After World War II, the high-powered accelerators have been used to smash the nucleus and search for new particles. Scientists work led the discovery of a cornucopia of new particles, which further led to the Standard Model, a quantum field theory. Many of the physicists agree with the model, while some of them think it is not a complete description of nature.
CERN had constructed the LHC for nuclear research. The collider was designed to particles on two different beams going to opposite directions. Once particles reach their energy levels, the opposite beams switch and cause ‘head-on’ particle collision.
LHC has set up a platform for scientists to understand particle physics in the easiest way. The collider follows a three stage process that could take years or even a decade. In the first stage, scientists begin with the theoretical physicists, where they try to find fundamental questions of science like how many sub-particles make up a neutron. In the second stage, the experiments lead to new technologies. While in the final stage, which takes most of the time, the scientists get a new product.
The first stage answered questions about dark matter, Unified Field Theory, Nanotechnology and new forces and energy. Second stage has applications in intense light for research and homeland security.
