The upcoming real-time strategy computer game developed by Finnish company Nitro Games – “East India Company” – will be released on July 28, 2009 — the publisher of the game, Paradox Interactive has announced.   

The announcement was made at the 15th Electronic Entertainment Expo – E3 2009 – the annual trade show for the computer and video games, at the Los Angeles Convention Center (June 2 – June 4), where the features of the “East India Company” game were revealed.   
 
Set in the 18th century, the “East India Company” is based on the historic adventures of the East India trading companies in South Asia and Southeast Asia. The game has three different levels, and it can be played in single player and multiplayer modes. In single player mode, the player plays as the British East India Company’s young captain, who takes voyage in search of the pirate who killed his father and brother. The revenge is the goal of the game. The game can also be played by many players. In multiplayer mode, the players engage in fierce naval battles against enemy fleets to establish the world’s largest trading empire.

The game allows the players to choice the fleet and nation of their choice. The players can choose from eight playable nations including Britain, France, The Netherlands, Portugal, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, and Spain. The players get tasks from the company or the crown. The players can choose from 11 types of ships including the schooner, the sloop, the brigantine, the East Indiaman, the frigate, and the ship of the line. The “East India Company” is based on Microsoft Windows platform. The genre of the game is real-time strategy. The input devices used to play the game are – Keyboard and Mouse.
