Pakistan pacer Asif issues statement on Delhi airport incident
New Delhi, Jan. 18 : Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Asif on Sunday issued a statement seeking to clarify his involvement in a Delhi airport incident, where he was reportedly held for questioning. Following is the statement:
"I was very pained about the reports in the newspapers and Television this morning about my arrival to New Delhi.
I wish to clarify that there was absolutely no problem at the Delhi airport on my arrival.
I came to New Delhi via Mumbai and I was welcomed whole-heartedly there and all immigration formalities were concluded there.
The media reports about any incidents are inaccurate and I am very happy to be in New Delhi and India once again.
My visit to Delhi is like coming from one home to another. I hope to meet my teammates like Virender Sehwag once again.
This is being issued to clarify my position." (ANI)
