Pakistan not subordinate to US, says Makhdoom Shah Qureshi
Karachi, Apr 4: Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said Pakistan is not subordinate to the US, and added that Islamabad will continue cooperation with Washington for the elimination of terrorism.
He said that no foreign country would be allowed to launch any operation inside Pakistan’s territory.
The Online quoted Qureshi as saying that the US had played pivotal role for revival of democracy and transparent elections in Pakistan.
The allegation levelled against the country with respect to presence of terrorists on its soil is a plot to malign Pakistan, he said.
“Foreign policy evolved by the erstwhile rulers would be amended after consultation,” he said, adding all such policies would be maintained which are in the national interest.
Replying to a question, Qureshi said: “Our policy is very clear about Dr A Q Khan and he will not be handed over to some other country. Dr A Q Khan is a Pakistani citizen.”
He also announced that all the political workers and leaders including Baloch leaders would soon be released.
Talks are going to be held with the Balochs and Pakhtoons in Balochistan to sustain reconciliation process therein, Qureshi added.
