Pakistan lifts ban on YouTube
Pakistan has restored access to YouTube. But it's accessible not with complete pages. Several hundred pages on YouTube will remain blocked as per the recent order by the Pakistan Government.
As per the officials these videos are having "blasphemous" contents and they can't be permitted in Pakistan.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) spokesperson, Khurram Mehran has said that YouTube has been unblocked but some contents are still questionable. The links to sacrilegious content would remain inaccessible in Pakistan. The ban on these contents can't be lifted at any cost.
A spokesman for Internet Service Providers Association of Pakistan (ISPAK) has also confirmed that the ban had been lifted on YouTube in Pakistan. The whole site will remain open to the users but particular URLs will not be accessible.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has issued a list of those questionable URLs. There are around 200-plus particular links or URLs of YouTube have been blocked.
However, a court in Lahore had also ordered to block Facebook as well. This will remain blocked until at least May 31.
